beekeepers operate 1 000 or more colonies each)

- average production honey/beehive/year / production moyenne miel/ruche/an : 30
Kg
- average honey prices wholesale/retail / prix moyens gros/détail : NA/NC
- tons of exported honey / tonnes miel exportées : NA/NC
- tons of imported honey / tonnes miel importées : have a look at

Historically, beekeeping has declined in the United States. In
1947, there were 5.9 million beehives. This number decreased steadily, leveling off at 4.1
million in the 1980s, but falling off again to a present level of 2.9 million. During the
same period, the number of beekeepers also declined (see Agricultural Economic Report
